You can try to get the shop you bought the transmission from to help out on the cost, but when it comes down to it, labor is not covered unless you add it to your warranty upon purchase.

Realistically speaking the factory should admit the problem and metal insert the spark plug threads. FYI, Harley Davidson figured this out many years ago when they had the problem, Harley figured it out fast and fixed it.
